From the Pastor
Back in 2014, a nine year old little boy from Atlanta named Willie Myrick got kidnapped right from in front of his home. Can you imagine the terror in a nine year old boy in being abducted and taken away from his family? Willie Myrick is part of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church outside of Atlanta, and he learned a worship song there called, “Every Praise is to Our God.” It’s just this praise song for God.
So, he gets kidnapped, and he doesn’t know what else to do. Well, this nine year old little boy starts singing in the car driven by this kidnapper, “Every praise is to our God. Every praise is to our God. Praise him, praise him, praise him, praise him.” It starts driving the kidnapper crazy.  His abductor keeps telling him to shut up, but he will not shut up. For three hours Willie sings, “Every praise is to our God.” And finally, after three hours, his kidnapper makes him get out of the car. It’s a true story. That little boy was saved by a worship song. Now this is not to say he wouldn't have gotten away otherwise, but I'll bet there was one family who is really glad they made the decision that every week Willie Myrick was going to learn to worship God.
This Sunday, the children of Chestnut Level are going to be leading our one and only worship service at 10:00 am, as I continue my sermon series on “The Gospel in Seven Words” with the appropriate title for all of God’s children — “Jesus Christ Welcomes and Loves Even Me.”

Quote of the Week
“We know the excitement of getting a present — we love to unwrap it to see what is inside. So it is with our children as they are gifts we unwrap for years as we discover the unique characters God has made them.”
