Houston Mission Trip Update

Thursday, Day 5

Another great day. We were very productive at the house - finishing up much of the drywall. Clear Lake Presbyterian Church treated us to an awesome meatloaf meal and Pastor Josh Young gave an awesome devotion on Matthew 20.

We finished up the day by crashing the Clear Lake Praise and Worship practice in CLPC's beautiful santuary. Here are a couple video clips:

Wednesday, Day 4

Today's blog update comes from Brian Musser. Here are two quick videos of our worksite:

Video 2 - Inside the house

We had a suprise this morning when a news crew from Fox26 stopped by to do a story on the home owner. This story is said to air on Friday morning here in Houston.

This afternoon we had the honor of seeing a nearly completed house (different house than our house) get dedicated today. The owner has an incredible story to tell and was very thankful to be "sleeping in her own bed tonight".

Tuesday, Day 3

Very productive day today! We almost finshed off the drywall. The owner stopped by today and shared her story of the flood. I was amazing to hear all that she's gone through over these past 6 months, and is extremely thankful for the work that's been provided. We had another awesome dinner provide for us tonight and a great devotional time from Pastor Dave from North Creek Presbyterian Church (Seattle, WA).

Here are some pictures from today:

Monday, Day 2

Today had lots of sanding drywall, mudding joints, as well as some limited plumbing and demolition. We started with breakfast at Clearlake Presbyterian, packed a lunch to eat at the job site and then had a feast when we returned to the church. We finished the day with a devotional time with Jimmy from the Fuller Center.

We worked in a house in Dickenson, Tx today. In Dickenson, 90% of their buildings were flooded. They have only now begun to rebuild after cleaning out for the past 6 months. They estimate that a full rebuild of this area will take 3 to 5 years.

Sunday, Day 1

With Strasburg Presbyterian Church, we've arrived in Houston. Although we had a rainy and bumpy day of travel, everything went very well.

We are staying at Clear Lake Presbyterian Church, recieved our orientation and are ready to start working on a house in Dickinson, Tx. Here is a news story from the neighorhood we will be working in this week.
