Tom Dodge

Tom Dodge serves in an supportive role at Chestnut Level as Parish Associate. He assists in worship leadership on a monthly basis and visits on an 'as needed' basis. He is retired as ordained clergy in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). His most recently held position of Director of Spiritual Care at Hospice and Community care (formerly Hospice of Lancaster County).

He well understands that a faithful follower of Jesus Christ does not ever retire. Tom continues to serve his Lord in ad-hoc pastoral care to individuals with diverse needs. He cannot seem to help himself but to come along side of hurting people and encouraging them. He was born to be and continues to see himself Stephen Ministry Leader. His favorite scripture verses are found in Isaiah:

When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.
3 For I am the Lord, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
Isaiah 43: 1,2

Can a mother forget her nursing child?
Can she feel no love for the child she has borne?
But even if that were possible,
I would not forget you!
Isaiah 49:15

He is also a runner, having completed over 20 marathons and other races. He is a 5am at-the-gym guy whose lifelong dream has been to walk the Appalachian Trail. He still wants to do it! Also, he enjoys walking with his wife, Elizabeth, and dog, Clifford, "the big red dog". He continues as an ardent student of the Scriptures.

He and Elizabeth are parents of two sons (both married) and grandparents of two granddaughters. They make frequent trips to North Carolina to enjoy them.
